Kalpa is a small town village situated at the last border of Kinnuar. Town is elevated at a height of 19000ft.

Nearest big city to Kalpa is Recong Peo which is just 10 KM apart there you can book your stay but if you can also set your camp on the place you find comfort. Climate of Kalpa
Place is very cold even in summer. So tourist carry their warm clothes with them. In the winters the whole route of this place cuts down due to extreme snowfalls. The best session to visit kalpa is may to sept. During winter time heavy woolens are required when temperature goes below freezing point around -15 degree to - 20 degree but in summer temperature may rise to 25-30 degree.
How to reach Kalpa
The road from Wangtu to Karcham is in a bad state and occasionally the road is blocked for a couple of hours due to landslide. At Karcham, a right goes to Sangla valley, take a left towards Recong Peo/Kalpa (35kms). Kalpa is approx 600 Km that will takes appx 20 hours of driving. The best way to reach here is by taking the bus from Chandigarh. It's a semi delux bus which leave chandigarh by 5PM(as per 2014) and takes you to Recong Peo in 8 am in morning next day. Then you can take another local bus to Kalpa.
