The four holly places are called as Chardham. situated on the up north Himalaya's, Badrinath has elevated on the highest altitude with tremendous shrines for Vaishnavites. The temple has very beautiful crafted archaeology of 9th century.
Badrinath or Badrinarayan Temple is a Hindu temple and the home of lord Vishnu and Narad while the lord Kuber came down to Village Pandukeshwar for half of year once temple has closed.
With the spectacular view of two high peeks Nar and Narayana mountain(6,596m) the temple is just in the middle of them. Badrinath is the only holly place in India where the highest number of pilgrimage visits. The name Badrinath get combined by two name Badri means a wild berry of this local estate, Second Nath which means Lord of. From the thousands of years the color and design of temple is still the same, in the early days thousands of pilgrimage have to walk and visit. Now the town is happily establishes and proper hotels and markets. Badrinath town is very small about 3 kmsq but still can accommodate thousands of pilgrimage for a single night. It was estimated 600,000 pilgrims visited during the 2006 season.
The front view of the temple has a greenish river named as "Alakannada". The backside is a view of Charanpaduka en- route to Neelkhanth paravat.

Climate of Badrinath temple
Badrinath town is situated at a height of 3,100 meters appx 10,170 feet and opens in month of April-May till October- November. Even in the summers the weather of the town is very cold, You must get packed with warm clothes with you. At this height the rain occurs very rarely but most of the daytime is under sunshine and fog. How to reach Badrinath temple
Badrinath is located 62 kms from nearest city Joshimath and 301 km from nearest railway station Rishikesh. To visit here you have to reach either Rishikesh or Dehradun and leave early in the morning. You can get taxies (?550 INR) from Rispina and bus(?400 INR) from pared ground dehradun. They will take around 8 hours to reach the last city Joshimath in evening. Here you need to make a halt for the one night in hotels at(? 500 INR per day) approx prices. Now in the next early morning you can easily get any taxi from Joshimath taxi stand to last stop Badrinath ISBT in about 2 hours.
